Anderson, et al. v. State of California--Mr. Collins represented 24 Malibu residents affected by landslide and mud in a case against State of California (CalTrans) which eventually settled for $24 million (after Mr. Collins won at trial on the liability issue).
Randall v. City of Malibu and County of Los Angeles-Mr. Collins represented 18 homeowners who homes were impacted by a Malibu-area landslide that had closed off Las Flores creek. The cases settled very favorably for the homeowners. After the lawsuit forced the City of Malibu to purchase the homes at full fair market value, the City turned the area into a park known as Las Flores Creek Park.
Ahrens v. State of California, Dept. of Transportation-Mr. Collins represented 25 homeowners along PCH in Malibu who were inundated by mud and debris directed toward their homes by CalTrans' poorly designed culvert system. CalTrans paid a seven-figure settlement to resolve the case.
Morhar v. City of Los Angeles--Mr. Collins represented 13 homeowners in a landslide case that settled for a seven-figure amount.
Brada v. City of Malibu-Mr. Collins represented two Malibu families in long-running litigation against the City of Malibu for landslide damage to their homes. The case settled for a seven-figure number.
Alfonso v. City of Agoura Hills-Mr. Collins represented 11 homeowners affected by a landslide against the City of Agoura Hills. The parties reached a confidential settlement after trial.
